Guidepost Psychotherapy provides free 15-minute consultations which allow you to ask any questions you may have and determine suitability.

Clients have the option to book a 80-minute intake session with the Clinician in lieu of the standard 50-minute setting. The additional 30 minutes are useful for clients who recognize they have a significant amount of background information they would like to share with their Clinician in their intake session.


Individual Psychotherapy

One-on-one psychotherapy session with a Registered Psychotherapist using our secure online platform.


Walk-and-Talk Psychotherapy

One-on-one psychotherapy session with a Registered Psychotherapist outdoors in the York region, either together or at a distance.


Nicky’s approach to working with her clients is one that fosters collaboration, a present and thoughtful atmosphere, with unconditional kindness and respect for her clients. Emphasizing a humanistic approach to psychotherapy, Nicky strives to create an unconditionally judgment-free setting, allowing her clients to feel safe and supported as they express themselves.

Looking to help her clients navigate through challenging times, get the most of life, and work towards personal goals of whatever nature, Nicky’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and individualized. Knowing first-hand the benefits of therapy and a strong therapeutic relationship, Nicky is passionate about mental health and wellness, meeting clients where they are in their journey and supporting them as they strive to suffer less and live more.

Prior to embarking on a career in psychotherapy, Nicky worked in the amateur sport and health charity sector for a decade, having earned an MBA (Sport Management) at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, as well as a BA in History from Queen’s University.

As an emerging therapist, Nicky focuses on evidence-based approaches and interventions to help her clients overcome their struggle with whatever issues or negative emotions they are facing. Nicky practices foremostly from a Humanistic approach, interweaving evidence-based behavioural approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
